My short story, "Howard and the Golem," is out at Interzone Digital. It's free to read -- here's the URL. I posted the art for it below, on December 13.
Thank you, by the way, for sticking in a distinction in pronunciation between golem and gollum. You know that many people think that Tolkien's Gollum was inspired by 'golem' even though they're nothing alike, and even pronounce it that way.
That was fun! One of the many things I love about your writing is how you tell very different stories in different styles yet there is usually a consistent thematic approach.
Thank you! The weird thing about that story is that it was harder to sell than almost anything I've written, so I'm glad people liked it. I wonder if no one's buying humorous stories now because things don't seem very funny these days.
I adapted your friend Pat Murphy's 'A Flock of Lawn Flamingos' as a staged reading a few years ago, with her permission. I'd like to discuss the possibility of doing something similar for one of your stories. Would it be OK to contact you? Mikey Roessner will vouch for me I think.
