I asked Jack at Dark Carnival if he'd gotten any reaction to Anne Rice's death.  He said yes, that someone had come in and asked if he could go to the Anne Rice section of the bookstore and quietly drink a beer.  Regardless of what you think about Anne Rice, this seems an elegant gesture.  Just as admirable, he offered Jack another bottle of his beer.
