Bonnie's Progress
The vet told us to give her more pain meds and some anti-inflammatory pills, because her problem might be that the site of the surgery became inflamed. That did seem to help, or at least she was a little more active. We hadn’t wanted her to climb the stairs and maybe fall so we’d blocked off the stairway with a low window screen held in place by a three-volume boxed set of Shakespeare. Yesterday she managed to climb over it, which I think — I hope — means she’s getting better. (She’s a very determined dog.) We’d been sleeping downstairs with her, so this means we can all go back upstairs and sleep in our bed, yay!
We’re going to the vet on Monday to get her stitches out, and I hope we can get rid of the Cone of Shame at the same time. She’s been wearing it on and off since we removed just the tumor, so four months. She's probably heartily sick of it.
