1. Doug’s review of A Star Is Born: “Not a complete waste of time, but the next best thing. The acting was good, though.”
2. If children of immigrants are supposed to go back where they came from, what happens to people whose parents come from two different countries?
3. Doug has been playing around with building websites, and he took mine apart and put it back together again. If you want to see the spiffy new website, it’s here. There’s nothing new right now, but in a while I’m going to post the first chapter of Ivory Apples.
4. Got a review in Spanish, which was 1) pretty good, and 2) written clearly enough for me to read it. So win-win.
5. If you haven't seen Worlds of Ursula K. Le Guin, on the American Masters series, put down your computer and go see it now. It was a great overview of her life and work and thought. My only criticism is that it was too short -- they never got into the influences on her fantasy writing, or her friendship with James Tiptree, or for that matter the Tiptree Award. The old photographs were fun too -- hey, there's Terry Carr! And Charles Brown!
